The Theme for the 2014 Conference is

Towards Transformational Leadership: Values and Ethics for

Educational Advancement and Sustainability

The conference will consider ethical leadership through a variety of lenses including:

  • The power of emerging media and technology
  • The development of participatory cultures
  • The juxtaposition of local and global perspectives
  • The centrality of relationships and communities
  • The pressures from a variety of stakeholders (e.g. political interests)

Keynote presentations and research papers will address the transformational dimensions of leadership from a variety of perspectives and through a variety of lenses, in and across educational contexts, institutions, and organizations. Unique to this conference is a focus strand on the power of emerging media and technology and ethical decision-making in early childhood, elementary, secondary, and post-secondary settings.

A key feature of this conference includes making connections among people and ideas. Workshops and featured events are intended to mirror the theme of transformational leadership and building collective capacity. We continue the tradition of past CSLEE Values and Leadership Conferences in which established and emerging scholars engage in conversation with a richly diverse group of speakers to foster authentic networking and partnership.
